The Very Best of Enya (2009)

L’annuncio ufficioso di questa nuova raccolta – a dodici anni di distanza della prima, Paint the Sky with Stars (1997) – è apparso il 15 agosto del 2009 sul sito albumvote.co.uk che ne aveva inoltre comunicato la pubblicazione per il 16 novembre. La notizia è stata poi confermata il 26 agosto sul sito ufficiale, sul quale verrà riportato che questa raccolta – voluta dalla Warner – avrebbe incluso pezzi scelti da Enya, Nicky Ryan e Roma Ryan e che sarebbe stata inoltre accompagnata da un’edizione speciale con un DVD contenente materiale documentario; il sito confermerà inoltre la data di pubblicazione annunciata sul sito inglese, salvo poi essere posticipata al 23 novembre. Il 19 settembre sul forum ufficiale Unity, Roma Ryan rilascia la cover dell’album, cover che sarà successivamente modificata in alcuni dettagli. La tracklist completa delle due edizioni verrà invece resa nota su enya.com l’8 ottobre; l’edizione CD ONLY FORMAT conterrà 18 tracce mentre quella CD/DVD FORMAT 22 tracce e 13 video più 3 documentari.  A queste due edizioni se ne aggiungerà una terza: la Collector’s Edition; di essa – acquistabile principalmente sull’ Enya online store e su altri siti specializzati – ne verranno stampate solo 1000 copie di cui 300 riservate al solo mercato giapponese (come indicato sul sito giapponese Warner Music Direct). La tracklist di questa edizione sarà la stessa di quella contenuta nella CD/DVD FORMAT con l’aggiunta di un vinile del singolo Orinoco Flow (1988)  (un 12” Picture Disc vinyl che include le tracce Orinoco Flow, Smaoitím... e Out Of The Blue), un booklet di 24 pagine contenente testi delle  canzoni, note, foto (alcune inedite) ed in più l’album in formato mp3; la Collector’s Edition verrà pubblicata il 30 novembre. In questo nuovo best of non verrà incluso nessun bonus track ad eccezione di una versione inedita di Aniron (I Desire) Theme from Aragorn & Arwen che si differenzierà dalla precedente apparsa nella colonna sonora The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (2001) in alcune parti del testo e nella durata (troverete maggiori informazioni nella tracklist).
